Untethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbroken demoed & handed over the exploit to Dev-Team

iPhone security expert and hacker Stefan Esser has just posted a new video on YouTube, showing untethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak running on iPod touch 4G. He has used the same exploit which he earlier used to jailbreak iOS 4.3

After demoing his untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1,the hacker has confirmed that he has now handed over the exploit to the members of the iPhone Dev-Team and that it is in internal beta testing.

Once this initial testing is successful, they are going to implement it in one of their existing tools like PwnageTool or Redsn0w before releasing it to public.

This untethered exploit wont work on the iPad 2. Since Apple has patched Comex’s exploit in iOS 4.3.1, a new exploit will be required to jailbreak iPad 2 on the latest iOS 4.3.1 firmware.

There is no ETA at least not anytime soon.
